I've watched the first half of this film in Netflix and I believe the story they made up here is inaccurate... :( I've learned First Century Jewish culture and backgrounds on the time of Jesus, that also includes Mary and the wise men, I saw totally different from what this film. This film added stories that i believe is not accurate. Like for example Mary had a crush on one guy, but she was forced to marry Joseph according to this film. 1st, in First Century Jewish culture, I believe that's not the real process of getting married. 2nd no where in the bible says she was forced nor have a crush on another guy. It's ARRANGE MARRIAGE, yes but how we interpret arrange marriage in our days is totally different from arrange marriage in that culture that time. The girl have a choice to accept or reject the guy. If she didn't accept, even if her father accepted the guy, they cannot be married and that means cannot be arranged. (To learn more about First Century Jewish culture of marriage, try looking for Joe Amaral or First Century Foundations and look for how arrange marriage works in Jesus' days. It's gonna be exciting study because we see this in bible verses and we didn't know it was about arrange marriage). Another one I want to point out is the wise men... It's not "three" wise men, the bible only said "wise men" and emphasized the three gifts they gave. These wise men got the message from way back to Daniel... That's a long story, and need to study for it. But anyway, in this film the wise men are kinda occultic. Also about Mary meeting an angel telling her the good news, this film shows no emotion to her but I believe in reality she's very excited and very happy because she was very blessed. She didn't think about people might judge her. Anyway, it's kinda ok though in this film but I'm just pretty disturbed about how they improvised the story. Im hoping they studied first the real background in bible days before they make these kind of films but for most Christians (and people) it's ok I guess.
